Wonderful view at Davao Del Sur - Sarangani boundary

Another travel moment with the gang and this time we traveled south of Davao City. We woke up at 5AM and ready ourselves since we traveled via Yellow Bus Line (YBL) to the Tuna Capital of the Philippines, General Santos City. It was their first visit to the city. I myself have been to this city for several times since my relatives were here. Actually, I posted some of my travel adventures on my previous blogposts. If you want, you may start it here.

We took a taxi ride from the hotel to Ecoland Bus Terminal and travel time was only 10 minutes. I asked some of the locals on where was the bus terminal going to Dadiangas or General Santos since it was the former name of the city. They pointed us to the other side of the terminal. Actually, Ecoland Bus Terminal was huge since it was a pool of buses from Davao to other parts in Mindanao such as Cagayan De Oro, Bukidnon, Butuan, Surigao and some parts of Visayas (Tacloban, Samar) and even in Luzon (Sorsogon, Albay) and Metro Manila (Cubao and Pasay). For a fact, Philitranco (Manila-based bus) has a terminal here in Davao.

Different buses in one terminal

We took a non-stop Yellow Bus Line to General Santos. It will lessen our travel time from the usual 3 hours (with a bus stop in Digos City, Davao Del Sur) to just 2 hours and 15 minutes. Fare cost PHP254. Buses in Mindanao have three types: Deluxe (ordinary type bus), Mabuhay (airconditioned bus with one-stop) and Executive (non-stop airconditioned bus). Sources were here. We chose the latter since it was very comfortable and travel time was faster than the Deluxe. We left Davao City at 6:30AM . We passed different towns and cities such as Santa Cruz, Digos, Hagonoy, Sulop in Davao Del Sur and Malungon in Sarangani Province.

Travel along the highway was a breeze. We reached Digos City after an hour and since it was a non-stop route, we passed the diversion road and proceed to other towns in Davao Del Sur. On our way to the boundary between Davao Del Sur and Sarangani Province, our driver had a 5-minute restroom break so some of the passengers did the same. We stopped to a small restaurant along the zigzag roads. We were amazed by the view and immediately took photos.

spot Mt. Apo here! :)

great view with orchids

nice quick stop over

After an hour, we arrived at General Santos City. Travel time was 2 hours and 15 minutes and we arrived at Lagao district and after few minutes, my cousin fetched us and proceed to my aunt's place in the city. It was so nice that I was back in the city after two years. I was also happy that I met my relatives and introduced to them to my gang members. Hehehe! It was a great moment. We took a rest, had our breakfast and hit the road after an hour. Stay tune to our next laag (travel) moments in General Santos City. :)
